Heart Chakra Healing

The heart chakra is also called Anahata, meaning "unhurt, unstruck, and unbeaten" in Sanskrit.
When your heart chakra is in balance, you are connected with your sense of empathy, love, and forgiveness.
You open yourself to the world with love, but you know when to close or limit your energy.
You are mindful of what has hurt, stuck, and beaten you, and you cleanse yourself of it.
You have lowered the boundaries in your mind and soul.
You choose how you react to and process pain.
You are in control of your suffering.

The color of the heart chakra is green, reflecting the life-force of nature.
All things may be healed, understood, and regrown.
You are ever-flowing, ever-changing.
Anahata is the center of love, both for oneself and the world.
Living in love will bring inner peace.

Center
The heart chakra is at the center of your seven chakras, with three below and three above.
It is located in the center of your chest, and relates physically to the breasts, lungs, heart, thymus gland, cardiac plexus, and the lymphatic system.
This chakra is associated with the element of air.
The balance that you feel in your life depends on the clarity of your heart chakra.
Do you know what has hurt you in the past?
Do you know what still threatens you today?
Do you take the necessary steps to deal with or eliminate that pain from your life?
Attune yourself to your mental state: do you overthink, reflect on bad memories, become overwhelmed by emotion, or have problems with jealousy and codependency or, alternatively, are closed off and withdrawn?
If you have long felt isolated, bitter, or afraid, consider your upbringing and the source of those feelings.

Is your inner voice intelligent, kind, open, and empathetic, especially to yourself?
Is your mind's eye looking at the world with clarity, unattached to suffering and hatred?
Are you "right" for yourself?
Or are you internally abusing, degrading, ignoring, and unfairly critiquing yourself?
Are you caught in poor mental patterns?
All that you are, and all that you may become, is dependent on your habitual thought.
You, like everyone in existence, have control over your own mind.
Do not make excuses for being out of control.
Practice engaging with your entire brain.
Create mental habits that are productive and positive.
Be meaningful with your thoughts.
Now, take a moment to be honest with yourself.
Reread the questions above and answer them truthfully.
How do you relate to the world?
What do you need to heal?

Heart Chakra Healing Meditation
Sit in a quiet location, somewhere you feel safe.
Light a stick of incense or a scented candle to gently awaken your senses.
Roll your shoulders back, opening your heart to the world.
Feel the coolness of the air as it enters your body.
Breathe in.
Pause, listen to your heartbeat.
Breathe out.
Your heart chakra is blossoming, warmth cascading across your chest and shoulder blades.
Within the warmth enveloping your body is pure, tender love.
Speak the following words aloud:
I am movement.
Within my limbs I feel the ebb and flow of the sea.
I am ever-changing, constantly blooming into newness.
As my heart recreates itself time and again, I use my bare hands to form it, molding my own rough edges into softness.
I love myself unconditionally.
I am in complete control of my mind.
I allow suffering to exist in my life as a challenge, not an overwhelming burden.
I look at my mistakes and shortcomings for what they are.
I do not allow myself to dwell in the past.
I forgive myself and others.
My heart is full, open, and loving.
I move through the world with care, knowing my purpose in everything I do.
I am mindful not to give too much of my energy away to others.
I balance the forces between open and closed.
Within my chest I can feel the sprouting of new life, pushing its way from soil to sun.
Through my veins pulses the vibration of the universe.
The palms of my hands are warm with acceptance.
Alone with myself, I am whole.
I am love.

Lessons From Weeding

Everywhere, the weeds are pushing their spiny way out of the soil. They are going to seed, and their invasive growth must be fought back. There is a lot to learn from this experience, no matter how tiresome it may seem.   Lessons From Weeding As I kneel, ever-nearer to the soil, my eyes scan the surrounding growth to determine what belongs and what must be removed.  There is a mixture of invasive plants amongst flowers and grass, and I must take care to differentiate between them all. The weeds threaten to overcome everything in their path. It is my duty to hold them off for the season. In certain parts of my yard, I will be needing to do more work than just pulling by hand.   Some tangles and briars prove themselves too tough for my gloves. However, I move steadily on, focusing only on the weeds that I have the ability to remove.  It serves no immediate purpose to entertain the question of how to do what I cannot. I do not allow my mind to be caught up in ponde...
