Springtime Meditation for Renewal

for those who

cannot bear to sleep

because the starlight

is too beautiful

and closing eyes means

the misery of farewell

to the infinite heavens,

these words hold power

and will gently guide you

to a state of renewal.

You may begin to breathe more quietly now, as a cooling mist falls delicately across your skin, the droplets settling themselves in tiny lakes which gather in the curves of your collarbones.

You slowly become more conscious of the state of your physical being.

Beginning in the very tips of your toes and fingers, a glowing warmth puddles like honey, and you feel its golden sensation filling your body from the bottom up.

You are not weighed down by the glowing presence, rather, you become impossibly light, as the warmth purifies and releases any tension that it meets as it flows steadily towards your heart.

The lightness cleanses your limbs, filling your lower body up to your chest.

Take this moment to consider what you hold in your core; what do you allow to be on your mind every day, and what do you need to release? What resides in the center of your being? Does it deserve to be there, making a home in your soul?

The glow continues now, subtle and loving as it crosses the threshold of your heart, filling your core with the warmth of compassion and clarity as it purifies and releases what does not belong.

Finally, your entire body rests filled with glowing, beautiful, impossible lightness.

Your mind remains untouched as, for a moment, stillness encompasses the world.

Breathe in....
Breathe out....
Pause.
Breathe in....
Breathe out....
Pause.

Honey-like warmth pours upwards, opposing gravity as it drips into your mind, filling your consciousness with sunshine.

You are glowing now.

You have the ability to choose awareness and positivity, to escape despair in each moment. You are light.

You must remain conscious of your power at all times.

Lessons From Weeding

Everywhere, the weeds are pushing their spiny way out of the soil. They are going to seed, and their invasive growth must be fought back. There is a lot to learn from this experience, no matter how tiresome it may seem.   Lessons From Weeding As I kneel, ever-nearer to the soil, my eyes scan the surrounding growth to determine what belongs and what must be removed.  There is a mixture of invasive plants amongst flowers and grass, and I must take care to differentiate between them all. The weeds threaten to overcome everything in their path. It is my duty to hold them off for the season. In certain parts of my yard, I will be needing to do more work than just pulling by hand.   Some tangles and briars prove themselves too tough for my gloves. However, I move steadily on, focusing only on the weeds that I have the ability to remove.  It serves no immediate purpose to entertain the question of how to do what I cannot. I do not allow my mind to be caught up in ponde...

Heart Chakra Healing

The heart chakra is also called Anahata, meaning "unhurt, unstruck, and unbeaten" in Sanskrit. When your heart chakra is in balance, you are connected with your sense of empathy, love, and forgiveness. You open yourself to the world with love, but you know when to close or limit your energy. You are mindful of what has hurt, stuck, and beaten you, and you cleanse yourself of it. You have lowered the boundaries in your mind and soul. You choose how you react to and process pain. You are in control of your suffering. The color of the heart chakra is green, reflecting the life-force of nature. All things may be healed, understood, and regrown. You are ever-flowing, ever-changing.  Anahata is the center of love, both for oneself and the world. Living in love will bring inner peace. Center The heart chakra is at the center of your seven chakras, with three below and three above. It is located in the center of your chest, and relates physically to the breasts, lungs, heart, thymus ...

Mental Forest Meditation

Begin to breathe with intention. Pause at the end of your exhales, observing the stillness there. Turn Inward Turn your attention inward. What does the inside of your mind feel like? Be mindful of the speed of your thoughts, do you allow them to move too quickly? Are your habitual thoughts productive and meaningful? Are you aware of your emotional state at all times, regulating its role in your life? Spend a moment breathing deeply and slowly, and meditating on the state of your internal self. Visualize Now that you are aware of your internal being, you may allow your mind to clear. Awareness is all that you need to ask of yourself right now. Allow your mind to melt into these words. Breathe in...breathe out...pause. You are standing in the center of a vast forest. The air is sweet and cool, smelling faintly of wood smoke, evergreens, and roses. From the gently swaying trees around you, birds sing joyfully out into the daylight. Their voices mingle with the rustling branches which move...
